Project Brief:
For my Senior Capstone, The Design Diary is a collection of animated typographic posters meant to express the feelings and events throughout my final semester. A personal project in order to overcome designing for myself. By creating a piece every day, I can design without having boundaries. It allows me to experiment, learn new skills, and reflect on these days later on.
Project Solution:
Over the course of the semester, I created 30 animated posters. Each one has a unique animation and design specifically to express the events of that particular day. On the day, I would journal and take sentences or feelings from my journal entries. A lot has and hasn’t happened this semester with Covid-19 and I am glad I have this project to reflect on. It gives an inside on how my brain came to terms with the transition to online classes and quarantine. By challenging myself to create something fro 30 days, it forced me to sit down and get in-depth knowledge of my programs. I have grown as a designer and now have a better grasp of Adobe After Effects and animation now.
